## Summary

**Close and dispose of the Cesar E. Chavez National Monument.** This bill would remove the monument name from federal references, bar new federal funding for the site, and require the federal government to sell the property and redirect resources elsewhere. - Visitors and local communities would lose public access to federal lands within the monument, including the Cesar Chavez Home and the Cesar Chavez Gravesite and Memorial Garden. - The Secretary of the Interior would be required to dispose of the federal property at fair market value within 90 days and to strike "Cesar E. Chavez" from legal references to the monument. - The bill would prohibit any additional federal funding for the monument and transfer unobligated amounts plus sale proceeds to carry out the DNA Analysis Backlog Elimination Act of 2000 (34 U.S.C. 40701).
