## Summary

**Standardized data on multigenerational caregiving** would be added to at least one major federal population survey within three years, so policymakers can better see and study people who provide unpaid care to family across generations. - Families and caregivers: The bill would identify people who gave unpaid care in the last 12 months to at least two recipients in different categories, such as a child under 18 and an adult 65 or older with a health condition. This makes multigenerational caregiving visible in national statistics. - Federal statistical agencies: The Department of Commerce, working with other agencies, would place the question on a major survey (American Community Survey, Current Population Survey, National Health Interview Survey, or a successor). Agencies may adjust wording and placement, and must do cognitive testing and, if needed, field testing. The report must be published on the Commerce website.
