## Summary

**Creates a national security risk-review system for communications equipment and services tied to certain Chinese companies.** It would require national security agencies to determine within 1 year whether specified gear or services present unacceptable risks and would trigger FCC listings and Defense Department reviews under the NDAA. - Appropriate national security agencies would have 1 year to decide if the listed equipment or services pose an unacceptable risk. Agencies must send an unclassified report to specific congressional committees and may include a classified annex within 30 days after a determination. - If an agency does not decide in time, the Federal Communications Commission must add all listed items to its covered list within 30 days. - The bill covers equipment or services from seven named companies and their subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, joint ventures, or licensees. The Secretary of Defense would also determine whether any of those entities should be identified as a Chinese military company under the NDAA annual review.
