## Summary

**Gives Tribes the option to run the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations under a USDA self-determination framework.** This bill would add a new section to the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act allowing the Secretary of Agriculture to enter into self-determination contracts with Tribal governments or Tribal organizations, at a Tribe's request, for FDPIR activities on reservations established under section 4(b) of the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008. The Bureau of Indian Affairs' Office of Self-Governance would provide technical assistance to USDA and to Tribes and Tribal organizations that request help.
