## Summary

**This bill would require the FCC to assess how network equipment supply chain availability affected deployment of advanced telecommunications capability and to fold that assessment into universal service deployment considerations.** It adds that assessment duty into the FCC's existing Section 13(b) reporting while preserving current limits on what providers must supply. - The FCC would add a focused evaluation to its Section 13(b) oversight using data already available to the Commission. - Telecom providers would not be required to provide any more information than they were required to give the day before enactment. - Policymakers would gain supply-chain context to inform universal service deployment choices and to weigh equipment availability when identifying service gaps.
