## Summary

**Expanded concealed-carry authority for qualified special operators.** This bill would let certain former U.S. special operations members carry concealed firearms like qualified retired law enforcement officers, but only if they meet specific training and identification requirements. - Qualified special operators would have to, at their own expense, meet their state’s active-duty firearm qualification standards that are no more than one year old and complete an Attorney General certified Concealed Carry Use of Force in Society training course before carrying. - Carry authority would end immediately if an individual loses an honorable discharge, ceases to be a qualified special operator, is intoxicated while carrying, becomes federally ineligible to possess firearms, or fails to keep required training current. - They must carry proof of identity and qualification. Acceptable proof includes a Department of Defense or Department of Veterans Affairs photo ID showing operator status or a government photo ID plus official service documentation, and law enforcement may request it.
