## Summary

**This bill would require continuous air quality monitoring** and standardized public reporting of engine oil, hydraulic fluid, and de‑icing fume events on passenger‑carrying jets. It would also require annual training for flight crews, mechanics, and airport responders on recognizing and responding to smoke or fume events. - Passengers and families: Aircraft would be fitted with detectors that monitor bleed air and cabin air in real time. The FAA must publish de‑identified incident data and quarterly aggregate statistics to show patterns. - Crew and maintenance workers: Flight attendants, pilots, and mechanics would receive at least annual training on recognizing sources of fumes, symptoms of exposure, and required response and reporting procedures. A voluntary standardized reporting system would give submitters confirmations and maintain privacy protections. - Air carriers, manufacturers, and the FAA: Carriers operating in the U.S. would have to install and run onboard monitoring equipment within 180 days and operate it whenever the aircraft is powered. Manufacturers would add response procedures to flight manuals within 1 year and the FAA would maintain a database, investigate incidents, consult with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), OSHA, and EPA, and fund related research. *Authorizes such sums as may be necessary to carry out these provisions.*
