## Summary

**More flexible timing for tax elections, estimated payments, and electronic filings.** This bill would change timing rules so small businesses have more time to choose S corporation status, individuals get later mid‑year payment windows, and electronic submissions can count as on-time. - Would let small businesses make an S corporation election up to the due date of the S return, including extensions. It would also allow the IRS to accept some late revocations as timely for reasonable cause and to permit elections on timely-filed returns. - Would move two mid-year individual estimated tax installments one month later to reduce missed-payment risk. These timing changes would apply to taxable years beginning after enactment. - Would extend the mailbox rule to electronic filings and payments so transmissions sent on time but received late are treated as filed or paid on the transmission date. The electronic-mailbox rule would take effect one year after enactment and the IRS must issue implementing guidance.

- Mailbox rule for electronic tax filings: benefit, low. This bill would treat an allowed electronic filing or permitted electronic payment as filed or paid on the date you transmit it if you send it on or before the deadline but the IRS receives it late.
