## Summary

**Allows co‑location of solar and wind projects on existing federal energy leases.** The bill would let the Secretary of the Interior authorize evaluations and permits to build solar or wind systems on areas of leases already issued under federal energy laws, subject to the leaseholder's consent and environmental checks. - Renewable developers would be able to evaluate and seek permits to place solar or wind systems on parts of existing Federal energy leases, subject to the leaseholder's consent. - Existing leaseholders must consent before an area is evaluated or used, so they retain control over leased areas. - The Secretary of the Interior would have to decide within 180 days whether these actions normally do not significantly affect the environment under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and would issue a rule to carry out the program.
