## Summary

**Bars people convicted for protest-related crimes at colleges from receiving federal student loans or loan relief.** This bill would target convictions tied to conduct at a protest on an institution of higher education under any federal or state law. - Students convicted of an offense related to a campus protest would be ineligible to receive Federal Direct Loans. - Borrowers convicted in that way would be ineligible to have covered loans forgiven, cancelled, waived, or modified under the Higher Education Act, by executive order, or by the Department of Education. Covered loans include Federal Family Education Loans, Federal Direct Loans, Federal Perkins Loans, and Health Education Assistance Loan Program loans.
