## Summary

**Treats implanted active middle ear hearing devices as prosthetics for Medicare coverage.** The bill would require the Administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to issue a clarification within 60 days that implanted active middle ear hearing devices meet the federal definition of "prosthetic" in 42 CFR 414.202 and therefore are not subject to the Medicare hearing aid exclusion in section 1862(a)(7) of the Social Security Act.
