## Summary

**Honor Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-serving institutions for their role in higher education and student success.** This resolution would designate September 22-28, 2025 as Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institutions Week and encourage schools and communities to observe it with events. It cites the program first authorized in 2007 to improve access and quality for these students. Since 2007 over 280 colleges have been eligible for the designation. As of 2025 there are 208 funded and eligible institutions and 69 that are or have been funded in 2024-2025. These institutions make up 7.1% of colleges but enroll 46% of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander undergraduates and award 51% of associate degrees and 44% of bachelor degrees to those students, many of whom are low-income and first-generation, and they create culturally relevant programs that boost retention and graduation.
