## Bill overview: provisions PRIA read

- Sheriffs can stop and board boats: benefit, low. Beginning July 1, 2026, county sheriffs and their deputies are the main enforcers of Idaho’s Safe Boating Act. When enforcing the law, they can stop and board any boat covered by the act if they reasonably suspect a violation. This clarifies and strengthens boating safety checks on Idaho waterways.
