## Bill overview: provisions PRIA read

- More no-fault help for wages and funerals: benefit, high. The law raises certain no-fault auto benefits. Funeral, cremation, and burial costs now count up to $5,000 per person. Weekly payments for lost wages and replacement services are capped at $500 per week and prorated for shorter periods. Seasonal or irregular income is adjusted fairly each year.
- Stronger insurance-fraud enforcement and lawsuit rights: benefit, medium. If you are harmed by insurance fraud, you can sue to recover your losses and your reasonable costs, including attorney fees. The Attorney General also investigates and prosecutes these crimes, along with local prosecutors. Those offices must tell the insurance commissioner when they learn of fraud…
- Faster no-fault medical payments and billing: benefit, medium. No-fault benefits are paid monthly as your loss happens. After the insurer gets proof, payment is due in 30 days. Insurers can total claims for up to 31 days and then must pay within 15 days; partial claims of $100 or more follow the same clock. You can ask the insurer to pay your medical provider…
- No-fault excludes mopeds and e-scooters: cost, low. Mopeds and electric low-speed scooters are not treated as motor vehicles under this law. Riders on those vehicles do not get no-fault reparation benefits.
