- State bee lab offers testing services: benefit, low. Beginning July 1, 2025, the Department of Agriculture can run a bee laboratory. The lab provides analytical services for bees and related equipment. People who keep bees or use equipment can buy these services for a fee.
- New registration and fees for leaf-cutting bees: cost, low. Beginning July 1, 2025, you must register alfalfa leaf-cutting bees with the Department of Agriculture. You file the department form, list your name and residence, the bees’ general location, and any other required details. You pay a registration fee set by department rule. Your registration stays…
- Old alfalfa funds go to general fund: cost, low. Before June 30, 2026, the Department moves any unspent, unobligated alfalfa seed account money to the state general fund. This reduces dedicated funds left for future alfalfa seed or bee work.
