## Bill overview: provisions PRIA read

- Video appearances allowed for bail hearings: benefit, low. In a bail hearing, a defendant may appear in person or by two-way audio-video. The remote appearance must follow the state's two-way video rules in law. Judges can hold bail hearings with live video when those rules are met.
- No bail for warrants from other jurisdictions: cost, low. The law bars judges from granting bail to anyone who is on a warrant from another jurisdiction. If the case moves to the court that has the charge, that court cannot continue, raise, lower, or replace bail for that person. These limits apply in Montana bail proceedings.
