## Bill overview: provisions PRIA read

- Public-use covenant revocations get a hearing: benefit, low. When a government seeks land for a public purpose, the local body must hold a public hearing before revoking an agricultural covenant. Within 15 days after the hearing, it must issue written findings and a decision. If approved, the revocation is recorded with the clerk and recorder.
- Annexed farmland can drop farm-only covenant: mixed, low. Local leaders can revoke an agricultural covenant when the land is annexed into a city or town. If they revoke it, you can split the land without the usual subdivision review. Sanitary rules under state law still apply, so you must meet health and water standards before development.
