## Bill overview: provisions PRIA read

- Stricter no-stopping zones at crosswalks: cost, low. Beginning 2025-10-01, you cannot stop, stand, or park within 20 feet of any marked or unmarked crosswalk. Cities and counties may set a larger distance by ordinance if needed for safety. They must post official traffic-control devices to show the rule. Existing exceptions in state law still apply.
- Warning-only crosswalk enforcement through 2026: mixed, low. From 2025-10-01 through 2026-12-31, officers enforce the crosswalk distance rule only by issuing warnings, and only where an official traffic-control device gives notice. No tickets are issued during this period. Beginning 2027-01-01, full enforcement returns, even if no sign is posted.
