## Bill overview: provisions PRIA read

- Plate fees fund SPCA and DMV: benefit, low. After the first 1,000 SPCA plates are registered, $15 from each $25 fee goes into the Saving Lives Together Fund. The state pays that money to the Richmond SPCA each year to support its programs in Virginia. The rest of the fees are set aside to cover DMV expenses.
- SPCA plate available, $25 yearly fee: cost, low. You can apply for a Richmond SPCA “SAVING LIVES TOGETHER” license plate from the Virginia DMV. You pay $25 each year on top of your normal registration fee. The $25 applies when you get or renew the plate. The DMV follows its normal plate process.
