Visa-free 14-day travel for PRC nationals

If you are a prescreened national of the People’s Republic of China, you may travel to the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) without a visa for a period not to exceed 14 days under the CNMI EVS-TAP program. You are required to obtain an electronic travel authorization from U.S. Customs and Border Protection prior to embarking on that travel. This requirement takes effect February 20, 2024.

Carriers must deny boarding without authorization

Carriers must deny boarding to travelers who lack a visa or an approved electronic travel authorization for travel to Guam or the CNMI. The rule follows the G-CNMI automation becoming fully operational after a 60-day transition that ended November 29, 2024, and applies with CNMI EVS-TAP implementation on February 20, 2024.

Parole policy for PRC nationals discontinued

The current parole policy that allowed certain nationals of the People’s Republic of China to enter the CNMI will be discontinued on February 20, 2024. After that date, the parole policy will no longer be available for PRC nationals seeking to enter the CNMI.
