What is MCP?

A USB port for AI

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to external tools and data sources. Think of it as a USB port for AI — plug PRIA in and your assistant instantly knows your financial picture.

Most fintech products lock your data behind dashboards. PRIA lets you take your policy risk data wherever your AI works — in your terminal, your editor, or your favorite chat interface.

Install in your platform

This is the fastest way to get started. Claude Code will automatically detect the MCP server and prompt you to use PRIA tools. Set PRIA_API_KEY in your shell environment before running.

Three steps to connect

Get your API key

Log in to your PRIA account, go to Preferences → API Keys, and click Generate Key. Give it a name like “Claude Desktop” so you know what it's for.

Your key starts with pria_ and is shown once — copy it immediately. You can create up to 5 keys and revoke any of them at any time.

Install the MCP server

Pick your platform above and run the install command. For most users it's a single line — no dependencies, no config files, no build step.

Requires Node.js 18+. The server runs locally on your machine and connects to your PRIA account via your API key.

Set your API key

If your platform doesn't have an env config block (like Claude Code CLI), set the key in your shell:

export PRIA_API_KEY="pria_your-key-here"

For Claude Desktop, Cursor, and VS Code, paste the key directly into the config JSON (shown in the platform tabs above). The key gives your AI assistant read-only access to your policy risk data.

Requires an active PRIA subscription ($299/year). Once connected, try asking your AI: “What's my PRIA Score?”
