If you are a private lender that originates VA-guaranteed loans, the VA increased a civil monetary penalty from $27,894 to $28,619. This change is effective January 10, 2025 and applies to the penalty amounts in 38 CFR 36.4340.
VA false-claim penalty increased
If a person makes or submits a claim to the VA that is false, fictitious, or fraudulent, the civil penalty amount was increased from $13,946 to $14,308. This adjustment takes effect January 10, 2025 and updates the amounts in 38 CFR 42.3.
