New Rail Service for Industrial Park
North Florida Industrial Railroad (NFIR) will lease and operate approximately 4,891 feet of track near Lake City, Fla., connecting the North Florida Mega Industrial Park to a Florida Gulf & Atlantic Railroad (FG&A) line at milepost 688. This will let Park tenants receive inbound and originate outbound freight shipments via NFIR, with NFIR maintaining and operating the line and providing switching and related rail services.
Interchange Rights Remain Open
NFIR certifies that the proposed lease and operation does not involve any provision or agreement that would limit future interchange with a third-party connecting carrier. That means tenants and shippers are not contractually barred, under this transaction, from interchanging traffic with other connecting rail carriers.
