Dams to Be Partially Removed or Retrofitted

Southern California Edison (SCE) filed a new major license application (Project No. 1389-060) on January 22, 2025, proposing to decommission hydroelectric operations at Rush Meadows Dam and Agnew Dam, including partial removal of those two dams. SCE also proposes to retrofit Gem Dam with a new spillway and reduce the dam height for seismic reasons, while continuing operations at Gem Dam and the project powerhouse; SCE says it does not propose adding generation capacity.
