New Jersey minor‑source permitting rules
If you own or operate a minor stationary source or a major source without an operating permit in New Jersey, construction and modification of your facility will be governed by updated permit and certificate rules that the EPA has approved into the State Implementation Plan (SIP). The EPA approval updates the federal permitting program to conform with the State regulations that were in effect at the time of the SIP submission and is intended to better serve the regulated community.
Stronger air quality protections in New Jersey
You who live in New Jersey will benefit from stronger rules that regulate construction and modification of stationary sources so the State can meet the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS). The EPA approved New Jersey's SIP revision (the EPA proposed approval on December 17, 2024) to help protect the quality of air in the State.
