Price Data Used To Set Payments/Fees
NASS price estimates are used for many government calculations, including computing Parity Prices under the Agricultural Adjustment Act, estimating value of production and cash receipts, setting levels for farmer-owned reserves, guiding Risk Management Agency price selection options, determining Federal disaster prices to be paid, contributing to NIPA and GDP measures, supporting ERS net farm income projections, and determining grazing fees on Federal lands. Those calculations directly relate to how programs and payments tied to agricultural prices are determined.
Peanut Seed Survey Consolidation
NASS is eliminating one survey and will collect the data for that survey on another existing survey to report peanut seed prices (Agricultural Prices, OMB No. 0535-0003). The agency says this change is intended to increase efficiency and that there is no change in total respondent burden as a result.
Scope: 39,525 Respondents, 25,205 Hours
The Agricultural Prices information collection involves 39,525 respondents described as farms and businesses and has a total estimated burden of 25,205 hours. Responses occur at frequencies listed as weekly, monthly, quarterly, biennially, and annually.
