Dassault Falcons Must Replace Swelling Display Batteries

Published Date: 3/28/2025

Rule

Summary

If you own certain Dassault Falcon 7X, 900EX, or 2000EX planes, listen up! The FAA wants you to fix some electronic display units because their batteries can swell and cause trouble. You’ll need to update these parts soon to keep flying safe, and you can’t put the old parts back in. This might cost some time and money, but safety always wins!

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 0 benefits, 2 costs, 0 mixed.

Required EDU Modifications for Dassault Jets

If you own or operate a Dassault Falcon 7X, Falcon 900EX, or Falcon 2000EX airplane, the FAA requires you to modify certain electronic display units (EDUs) because reported swelling of the lithium‑polymer internal and external batteries can create an unsafe condition. The AD requires performing the EDU modifications specified in the incorporated European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) airworthiness directive to address the issue.

Prohibition on Reinstalling Affected Parts

The AD prohibits installation of the affected EDU parts on the specified Falcon 7X, 900EX, and 2000EX airplanes; you may not reinstall the old, affected units after removal. The prohibition and the list of affected parts are those specified in the EASA AD incorporated by reference.
