Greater Connecticut Reclassified — NSR Applies
If you operate a business or plan a new project in the Greater Connecticut area, the area has been reclassified to "moderate nonattainment" for the 2015 ozone National Ambient Air Quality Standard (2015 ozone NAAQS). That means the State Implementation Plan (SIP) is certified to meet the nonattainment New Source Review (NSR) permitting requirements under the Clean Air Act, so new or modified sources must comply with those permitting rules.
Emission Statement Program Certified
Connecticut's emission statement program is certified to meet Clean Air Act requirements for the initial nonattainment designations and the reclassification to moderate nonattainment for the 2015 ozone NAAQS. Facilities subject to emission statement rules in the affected area must follow the certified emission statement program requirements.
