Analyzed Economic Effects
3 provisions identified: 0 benefits, 3 costs, 0 mixed.
Applies to all BD-500-1A11 airplanes
If you own or operate an Airbus Canada Model BD-500-1A11 airplane, this new FAA airworthiness directive (AD) applies to your aircraft. The AD was issued after a design review revised operational loads for some flight phases and is intended to address an unsafe condition.
Mandatory review and repair assessments
The AD requires you to review and disposition all existing repairs and damage assessments for the affected structure on BD-500-1A11 airplanes. If the review shows issues, you must perform corrective actions as required by the AD.
Certain repair methods prohibited (REOs)
The AD prohibits the use of certain repair engineering orders (REOs) for BD-500-1A11 airplanes, as specified in the Transport Canada AD that is incorporated by reference. That means some previously used repair methods must stop if they are listed in the incorporated Transport Canada AD.
