Notice

Summary

The Department of Agriculture is asking for public feedback on its plan to collect info through the USDA’s Web Based Supply Chain Management System. This helps them buy and manage food for school and nutrition programs. If you’re involved in these programs, your input matters before the review deadline, but no new costs or big changes are coming right now.

Vendors must register and bid online

If you are a business or farm that wants to sell commodities to USDA, you must be registered and submit electronic offers through the USDA Web Based Supply Chain Management System (WBSCM) at https://portal.wbscm.usda.gov. The information collection covers about 500 respondents and totals 50,399 burden hours across responses that occur on occasion, weekly, monthly, or quarterly under OMB Control Number 0581-0273.

Opportunity to bid on nutrition program purchases

USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) issues solicitations for the purchase and sale of perishable agricultural commodities for Section 32 and multiple nutrition programs (including the National School Lunch Program, Child & Adult Care Food Program, Commodity Supplemental Food Program, The Emergency Food Assistance Program, and disaster feeding). If you are a vendor or farm, you can submit electronic offers through WBSCM to bid on deliveries to domestic and international nutrition assistance programs.
