If you are a producer who lost crops, trees, bushes, or vines in 2017 wildfires or hurricanes, the Farm Service Agency may provide up to $2 billion in assistance through the 2017 Wildfires and Hurricanes Indemnity Program (2017 WHIP). This funding was authorized by the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018 and is being implemented by FSA.
About $340M for Florida Citrus Growers
If you are a Florida citrus grower who suffered tree or production losses from the 2017 disasters, FSA will provide approximately $340 million through a block grant with the State of Florida to address those losses.
You Must File Specific Forms To Get Payments
To be determined eligible and receive payments under 2017 WHIP or the Quality Loss Adjustment (QLA) program, producers must submit specified forms (examples: FSA-890, FSA-891, FSA-892, FSA-893, CCC-902, FSA-578, AD-1026 for WHIP; and FSA-898, FSA-899, FSA-895, FSA-578, CCC-902I, CCC-901, CCC-941, CCC-942, AD-1026 for QLA). The notice reports 7,248 respondents and a total of 604 burden hours for the collection; failure to submit the application and required forms would result in payments not being provided to eligible producers.
