New pipeline capacity for region
If you live or operate in Washington or Oregon, the Kelso-Beaver Reliability Project would create 52,400 dekatherms per day (Dth/d) of westbound capacity to the North Mist Storage facility and 131,000 Dth/d of eastbound capacity from North Mist to Northwest's system. Commenters told FERC that these capacity increases could help the region's energy reliability.
Local safety concerns about construction
The Project would construct a new KB Compressor Station (one 5,500-horsepower electric motor-driven unit) and modify existing aboveground facilities in Cowlitz County, Washington. Landowners and other commenters raised safety concerns about the Project given the region's geologic hazards, and FERC says it will address all substantive comments in the Environmental Assessment.
