Certain Mercedes vehicles noncompliant

Mercedes‑Benz found that certain model year 2001–2025 Mercedes‑Benz and Daimler Vans motor vehicles do not fully comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 110 or FMVSS No. 120. The companies filed noncompliance reports dated May 25, 2024 and June 24, 2024.

NHTSA received petitions; review underway

Mercedes‑Benz petitioned the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on June 14, 2024 and July 12, 2024 asking that the tire and rim noncompliances be judged inconsequential to motor vehicle safety. This document announces receipt of those petitions and indicates NHTSA is reviewing them; no recalls or remedies are announced in this notice.
