Taiwan Nails Face U.S. Duty Hammer for Low Prices

Published Date: 6/12/2025

Notice

Summary

The U.S. checked steel nails from Taiwan sold between July 2023 and June 2024 and found they were priced too low. Because of this, some extra duties (taxes) will apply to those nails to keep things fair for U.S. businesses. If you import or sell these nails, expect changes in costs starting now!

Antidumping Duties on Taiwan Steel Nails

Commerce found that certain steel nails from Taiwan were sold in the United States at less than normal value for the period July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024. Because of that finding, antidumping duties (extra import taxes) will apply to those nails, so importers and sellers of these nails should expect higher costs.
