China's Lockers Face Extra Duties in Trade Review

Published Date: 6/13/2025

Notice

Summary

The U.S. checked if metal lockers from China got unfair government help during 2022 and found that some did. Because of this, certain companies will face extra duties, but four companies are off the hook as their review was canceled. This means some importers might pay more, and the changes kick in soon to keep things fair.

Extra Duties on Chinese Metal Lockers

The Department of Commerce found that producers and exporters of certain metal lockers from China received countervailable subsidies for the period January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022. Because of this finding, some importers of these metal lockers may have to pay extra countervailing duties.

Four Companies' Reviews Rescinded

Commerce rescinded this administrative review in part for four named companies, meaning those four companies are not subject to the review's countervailing duty determinations for the period January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2022. As a result, those four companies are not being assessed duties under this review.
