ACRS Narrows Review Under E.O. 14300
The Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS) will reduce its functions to the minimum necessary under Executive Order 14300 (May 23, 2025) and will limit its review of permitting and licensing issues to matters that are "truly novel and noteworthy." The ACRS will only undertake other work as directed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

Members of the public can join ACRS open sessions remotely for the July 9-11, 2025 meeting via Microsoft (MS) Teams or by phoning 301-576-2978 with passcode 671230363#. The MS Teams link and a more detailed agenda are available on the ACRS public website, and you can request the link from the Designated Federal Officer by email.
Public Participation Rules and Limitations
If you want to speak or present at the July 9-11, 2025 ACRS meeting, you should notify the Designated Federal Officer 5 days before the meeting and email an electronic copy of your presentation at least 3 days before the meeting. Portions of some sessions may be closed to protect proprietary information or internal personnel matters, cameras may be limited, and electronic recording is allowed only during open portions.
