Seven Benzimidazole-Opioids Placed in Schedule I

The DEA is temporarily placing seven benzimidazole-opioid substances into Schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act. When finalized, the Schedule I regulatory controls and the administrative, civil, and criminal sanctions that apply to Schedule I substances will apply to anyone who manufactures, distributes, reverse distributes, imports, exports, conducts research or instructional activities or chemical analysis, or possesses these seven substances.
