Nasdaq Cuts Options Regulatory Fee
Starting August 1, 2025, Nasdaq will lower its Options Regulatory Fee (ORF) from $0.0014 to $0.0005 per contract side. If you trade or clear options through Nasdaq, you will pay $0.0009 less per contract side beginning on that date.
Who Pays ORF Depends on Clearing Status
The ORF is assessed on Customer option transactions that are either executed on NOM or cleared by a NOM Participant at OCC in the Customer range. If the OCC clearing member is a NOM Participant, ORF is assessed and collected on all ultimately cleared Customer contracts; if the OCC clearing member is not a NOM Participant, ORF is collected only on cleared Customer contracts that were executed on NOM.
