Automatic renewal if no new license by June 30, 2026

If a new license or other disposition is not issued on or before June 30, 2026, the annual license automatically renews without further order or notice under 18 CFR 16.18(c). The renewal continues unless the Commission orders otherwise.

Rules for projects waiving section 15 of the FPA

If a project's prior license waived section 15 of the Federal Power Act and the licensee has filed for a subsequent license, the licensee may continue to operate under the prior license after it expires until the Commission acts, under 18 CFR 16.21(a). If the licensee has not filed, it may be required to continue operations until the Commission issues someone else a license or orders disposition, under 18 CFR 16.21(b).
