Petition to Allow Importing 2015 LaFerrari
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) received a petition asking that model year 2015 Ferrari LaFerrari passenger cars manufactured for sale in Europe or Mexico that were not originally built to meet U.S. safety standards be declared eligible for importation. The petitioner, J.K. Technologies, provided a sample vehicle (MY 2015 Ferrari LaFerrari, VIN: ZFF76ZFL7F0xxxxxx) and says these cars are substantially similar to the U.S.-certified versions and can be readily modified to meet Federal motor vehicle safety standards.
