Student Loan Rulemaking Begins
The Department of Education will form a negotiated rulemaking committee to write new regulations for Federal student loan programs under Title IV to implement Pub. L. 119-21 signed July 4, 2025. You can join a virtual public hearing on August 7, 2025 (9:00 a.m.–noon and 1:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m. ET) or send written comments through August 25, 2025 to share your views.
Pell Grants and College Accountability Review
The Department will form a second negotiated rulemaking committee to prepare regulations on institutional and programmatic accountability, the Pell Grant Program, and other Title IV changes to implement Pub.
