Mandatory HMS Inspections for Boeing 747s

If you fly or fix Boeing Model 747-200B, 747-200C, 747-200F, 747-300, 747-400, 747-400D, 747-400F, 747-8F, or 747-8 series airplanes, you must identify the part number (and serial number if applicable) of the Captain’s and First Officer’s seats and perform the one-time detailed inspection and repetitive checks of the seats’ horizontal movement system (HMS). You must also perform any applicable on-condition actions required by the Airworthiness Directive.

Clarifies Credit and Service-Info Error

This rule corrects an error in the previous AD (2025-01-08) about conditions for taking credit using a previous revision of the service information and revises paragraph (j) to clarify which actions are not required. The new AD still requires the actions from AD 2025-01-08 but makes clear which prior actions you do not need to do.
