Summary
From July 31 to August 3, 2025, the Coast Guard will block off a part of Lake Washington in Seattle during the Seafair Air Show to keep everyone safe. Boats and people can’t enter the area unless they get special permission. This means some water traffic will be paused for a few hours each day, but it’s all to make sure the show goes off without a hitch!

Lake Washington closed for air show
You cannot enter or remain in a defined part of Lake Washington in Seattle from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day on July 31, 2025 through August 3, 2025. This will pause waterway traffic in the safety zone during those hours unless you have special permission.
Permission and orders required to enter
You may enter the safety zone only if the Captain of the Port Sector Puget Sound (COTP) or their designated representative authorizes you to do so. If granted authorization, you must follow all lawful orders or directions from the COTP or their representative during the enforcement periods.
