Summary

The U.S. checked if a Chinese company sold a special cooling gas (R-134a) for less than fair price between April 2023 and March 2024. They found it did, so they’re starting to adjust duties (extra taxes) to keep things fair. Companies involved can share their thoughts before the final decision.

Preliminary Antidumping Finding on R-134a

The Department of Commerce preliminarily found that a Chinese company sold the refrigerant 1,1,1,2-Tetrafluoroethane (R-134a) from China at less than normal value during April 1, 2023 through March 31, 2024. Because of this finding, Commerce is initiating adjustments to antidumping duties (extra import taxes) on that company’s imports and will consider comments from interested parties before a final decision.
