Rule
Summary
The DEA is giving dipentylone its own official spot on the list of the most tightly controlled drugs (Schedule I). This means dipentylone is now clearly recognized and tracked separately from similar drugs. People who make, sell, or use this drug will need to follow these updated rules right away, but there’s no new cost involved.

Dipentylone Added to Schedule I
The DEA has added 1-(1,3-benzodioxol-5-yl)-2-(dimethylamino)pentan-1-one (dipentylone; N,N-dimethylpentylone) as a separately listed Schedule I controlled substance with its own DEA drug code. Dipentylone is now explicitly listed apart from its positional isomer N-ethylpenthylone (which was controlled on August 31, 2018). People who make, sell, or possess dipentylone must follow the Schedule I rules right away, and the rule says there is no new financial cost involved.
