Five-Year Export Ban on Corona

Because of his November 17, 2023 conviction for smuggling, Cesar David Piz Corona is denied all export privileges for five years — from November 17, 2023 until November 17, 2028. During that time he may not directly or indirectly participate in any transaction involving items subject to the Export Administration Regulations, including applying for or using licenses, buying, selling, transporting, financing, servicing, or otherwise benefiting from such transactions.

Revocation of BIS Licenses Held by Corona

Any Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) export licenses or authorizations in which Corona had an interest at the time of his conviction are revoked. Those revoked licenses cannot be used by him while the Order is in effect.

Order Can Extend to Related Entities

BIS may make any person, firm, corporation, or business organization related to Corona by ownership, control, position, affiliation, or other connection subject to this Order to prevent evasion. Related entities could thereby face the same export restrictions.

Prohibition on Others Doing Business With Him

From the date of the Order until November 17, 2028, no person may export, reexport, transfer, facilitate acquisition by, acquire from, obtain from, or service items subject to the Export Administration Regulations for or on behalf of the Denied Person. This includes financing, transporting, or servicing items if it would benefit Corona.
