Four Developers Seek Permits to Build

Four applicants—Lindsey and Associates, LLC; Seahaven Farms, LLC; Emmer Holdings, LLC; and Greg Smith—have applied for incidental take permits under the Endangered Species Act to take the federally listed Alabama beach mouse while building single-family homes in Baldwin County, Alabama. Each applicant submitted a proposed habitat conservation plan as part of their application.

Service May Apply NEPA Categorical Exclusion

The Service made a preliminary determination that the proposed permitting actions may be eligible for a categorical exclusion under the National Environmental Policy Act and DOI NEPA rules. Draft screening forms and NEPA statements were prepared for each application and are available for public review.

Public and Agencies Invited to Comment

The Fish and Wildlife Service is requesting public comment on the four permit applications, the applicants' proposed habitat conservation plans, and the Service's preliminary NEPA screening determinations. The Service invited comment from the public and local, State, Tribal, and Federal agencies and made draft screening forms and NEPA statements available for review.
