If you work in oil, gas, or sulfur operations on the Outer Continental Shelf, the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement has increased the maximum daily civil monetary penalty for violations by about 2.6% (multiplier 1.02598). The adjustment is based on the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) from October 2023 to October 2024 and applies to penalties under the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act.
