Temporary 200 cfs Stream Bypass Built

If you live near Georgetown or Clear Creek counties, Colorado, the licensee will construct a temporary stream bypass pipeline that can divert up to 200 cubic feet per second (cfs) of South Clear Creek around the Forebay Reservoir and Dam. The notice says required minimum flows will still be released but the delivery method will change while the dam is being decommissioned.

Public Review and Assistance Opportunity

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission will prepare an Environmental Assessment (EA) for the project and plans to complete the EA by November 12, 2025. Members of the public — including landowners, environmental justice communities, Tribal members, and others — can file comments, motions to intervene, or protests, and the Commission's Office of Public Participation offers assistance to help people access information and make filings.
