Notice
Summary
The Farm Service Agency is changing how it decides who gets extra help from certain farm disaster programs. They’re dropping the race- and sex-based labels that gave some farmers extra benefits. This affects programs like Emergency Relief and Livestock Relief, and means all farmers will be treated the same starting now.

Ends race/sex bonus in farm disaster aid
If you are a farmer or farm business, the Farm Service Agency will no longer use the race- and sex-based "socially disadvantaged" designation to give increased benefits. This change applies to the Emergency Relief Program (ERP) Phase 1; Emergency Livestock Relief Program (ELRP) Phase 1 and Phase 2; ERP 2022 Track 1 and Track 2; and ELRP 2022.
